    CHIROPRACTIC

Chiropractic manipulation is a non-invasive manual procedure which utilizes the highly-refined skills developed during four intensive years of chiropractic education. The primary goal of chiropractic manipulation, also referred to as adjustment, is to treat areas of decreased movement in the joints of the spine which can create a reaction in surrounding tissues (ligaments, muscles and nerves) resulting in pain, dysfunction and muscular spasm.

    TREATMENT DETAILS

In many cases, such as lower back pain, chiropractic care may be the primary method of treatment. Where other medical conditions exist, chiropractic care may complement or support medical treatment by relieving the musculoskeletal aspects of discomfort associated with the condition. Where applicable, several other treatment techniques are also used to help reduce or eliminate symptoms … these techniques include:

A manual soft tissue technique using the examiner’s hands to diagnose and treat the underlying causes of various disorders that result in symptoms of numbness, tingling, burning and aching. The main purpose of ART® is to re-establish motion between soft tissue (muscles, tendons, ligaments, blood vessels, fascia and nerves) by decreasing fibrous adhesions (scar tissue between muscles, nerves and other connective tissue). These adhesions and scar tissue are a result of when soft tissue structures are exposed to damaging forces. These forces usually come about in one of three different ways: a sudden or acute injury, a cumulative or chronic injury, or a pressure injury from external forces like poor posture.

An innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The Technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.

The process of helping an individual achieve the highest level of function, independence and quality of life. Rehabilitation helps restore the individual to optimal strength and endurance. Custom exercise regiments assist the patient reach the highest level of function by preventing complications, reducing disability, and improving independence.

A specialized method for therapeutic and rehabilitative taping which uses a specific tape known as Kinesio Tex Gold®. This elastic, latex-free tape takes minimal time to apply, is resilient (lasts up to 3-5 days), water resistant, easy to remove and suitable for patients of all ages. Kinesio Taping® is designed to reduce pain, enhance performance, re-educate the neuromuscular system, prevent injury, and promote lymphatic flow.

Detailed and individualized dietary counseling, as well as prescribing appropriate supplemental minerals, nutrients and vitamins for optimal health.

    THERAPY PROCESS

Chiropractic manipulation is a non-invasive manual procedure which utilizes the highly-refined skills developed during four intensive years of chiropractic education. Chiropractors assess disorders related to the spine, nervous system, and joints of the extremities and provide diagnosis, treatment and prevention of those disorders.

The primary goal of chiropractic manipulation, also referred to as adjustment, is to treat areas of decreased movement in the joints of the spine which can create a reaction in surrounding tissues (ligaments, muscles and nerves) resulting in pain, dysfunction and muscular spasm. Chiropractors are also trained to prescribe therapeutic exercise and other non-invasive therapies including dietary counselling.

Manipulation is a highly controlled procedure which rarely causes discomfort. The chiropractor adapts the procedure to meet the specific needs of each patient. Patients often note positive changes in their symptoms immediately following treatment.
